WHEELER MEMORIAL CHAPEL RECEIVES GRANT FROM THE MCININCH FOUNDATION
12/20/2005 - MANCHESTER, NH—The McIninch Foundation of Manchester has awarded a $5,000 matching grant to the Wheeler Memorial Chapel Trust in Merrimack, NH. The funds will be used to help replace the roof on the 116 year old structure which was severely damaged by the heavy rains last fall. The award was announced Tuesday by the Wheeler Memorial Chapel Board of Trustees. Since it is a matching grant the Trustees must now raise an additional $5,000 before receiving the funds from the McIninch Foundation. The Trustees are actively trying to raise these funds from several sources, including businesses and individuals, explained Dr. Michel Couret, a member of the Board of Trustees. The Wheeler Memorial Chapel is a nondenominational traditional New England church, used as a community center by a number of local groups. The Chapel is located on the Daniel Webster Highway in Merrimack. The repairs are expected to cost $29,040; with this grant the Trustees have raised $13,000.
