FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WHEELER MEMORIAL CHAPEL RECEIVES GRANT FROM THE ELLA ANDERSON TRUST
1/1/2006 - MERRIMACK, NH -The Trustees of the Wheeler Memorial Chapel announced they have received a $4,000 grant from the Ella Anderson Trust. On the heels of grants from both the Laird and Mcininch Foundations the Trust is more than halfway to its goal of $30,000 needed to replace the roof of the historic chapel. This is an urgent project as the interior of the building has already suffered damage from heavy rain in the fall so the Trust is eager to replace the roof system before the heavy rains that typically accompany spring.
The Chapel building is a 116-year-old wooden building in the style of a traditional New England church. Located at 590 Daniel Webster Highway, Route 3, in Merrimack, NH, it is used a number of private and public organizations as a community meeting place. It is nondenominational and non-sectarian facility for the use of the community. The Chapel is owned and operated by the Wheeler Memorial Chapel Trust, established by John Wheeler in 1889. The Trust is a nonprofit 501 (c)3 organization.
