FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Work Begins on Complete Replacement of the Wheeler Memorial Chapel Roofing System.

3/13/2006 -

MERRIMACK, NH - David Aubrey Roofing has begun work on a complete replacement of the current roofing system on the chapel building. The contract for this project includes complete stripping of the current roofing system and sheathing over the original barnboard decking with plywood for the chapel roof as well as the steeple roofing. After the installation of the plywood sheathing architectural shingles with a 50 year lifespan will be installed. During the roof replacement process there will be extensive repairs to the soffit and fascia areas as well. This is an important step in the overall renovation process as it will make the attic area more pest proof. Also part of the roof replacement will be the ridge venting of the chapel roof. This is an important step in assuring that the 50 year shingles will perform for their expected lifetime. There is also some expectation that this will make the first floor more comfortable in the summer months. The project is expected to take 40 working days over the next two to three months.

This project and others of similar scope require relatively large sums of money to complete. This is a significant challenge for a 5 person volunteer Board of Trustees. If you are interested in learning more about the finding of the chapel renovation please visit our Fundraising Page.
